GIS Technician and
Registered Forest Technician in Training
I am a highly ambitious recent graduate from the Advanced GIS Diploma program at Selkirk College. As a GIS student I've gained a broad experience working with ArcMap as well as open source mapping tools, Database Systems, Analysis and Automation, and Remote Sensing techniques. Before returning to school my background was in Forestry, working in cut block development and sivilculture. I have been lucky enough to travel all over BC with this type of work. It has allowed me to experience vastly unique opportunities aswell as the knowledge and patience you gain from facing challenges and obstacles in such remote locations. My enthusiasm for Forestry and GIS have complimented each other well, producing a well rounded knowledge of both industries. I hope to be able to apply my GIS skills alongside Land Management and Sustainable Forestry in the Kootenays.
I was born and raised in Southern Ontario, but have called Nelson BC home for the past 5 years. In my spare time I take advantage of the beautiful surroundings of Nelson by snowboarding, mountain biking, golfing, hiking, and camping.
